His Holiness Patriarch Kirill meets with Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov

On 26 July 2012, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in the capital of Ukraine and proceeded to the Holy Assumption Laura of the Caves. Greeting His Holiness at the Near Caves were His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine and brethren of the monastery.

His Holiness met with Nikolai Azarov, prime minister of Ukraine, at the premises of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Laura of the Caves. They were joined in the talk by His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir.

Nikolai Azarov warmly greeted His Holiness and noted the importance of the primatial visit to Kiev. Relations between the Chu5ch and the state were discussed.

After the talk, the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church chaired by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill began within the Laura of the Caves.
