Romanian Orthodox Church delegation visits Monastery of the Dormition in Odessa
On July 12, 2011, Bishop Alexy of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, vicar of the Odessa diocese, took a Romanian Orthodox Church delegation led by Archbishop Theophanes of Jassy, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bukovina, on a tour of the Odessa Monastery of the Dormition. He introduced the delegation to the history of this oldest monastery in southern Ukraine.
The pilgrims from Romania saw the monastery’s churches and shrines and prayed at the reliquary with a foot of St. Andrew the First-Called and the relics of St. Kuksha of Odessa, the website of the Diocese of Odessa has reported.
The guests also visited the Patriarchal summer residence in the Monastery of the Dormition.
