Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with His Beatitude Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia

On 11 May 2011, His Beatitude Metropolitan Christopher met with Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), at the Metochion of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

They were joined in the meeting by Very Rev. Aleksiy Yuschenko, rector of the metochion; Rev. Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for Inter-Orthodox relations; and A. Khoshev, a DECR staff member.

Discussed were prospects of cooperation between the two Churches and participation of the Moscow Patriarchate in the celebration of the fifth anniversary of Metropolitan Christopher’s enthronement, 60^th anniversary of the autocephalous status of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, and the 1150^th anniversary of the mission of Ss. Cyril and Methodius.
